Additional Information

Government Environmental Management Charge (EMC) of $5.50 is levied for all adults and children 4 years and over entering the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage area. This charge is NOT included in the cruise fare and is payable direct on the day of travel .

With fluctuations in world oil prices, it may be necessary to apply a fuel surcharge to your ticket price. In such cases, any charge will be collected on the day of travel.

On very rare occasions, services can be subject to the effect of weather or unforeseen circumstances. Should a cruise not operate for any reason passengers will be offered an alternative day or a refund authorised.

Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude some people from diving. For advice contact our Quicksliver office. Minimum age for diving is 12 years. Quicksilver recommend a wait of 12 hours but preferably 24 hours, if doing multiple dives, before ascending to an altitude of 300 metres or greater. Snorkelling can be a strenuous activity. Please use caution and inform our crew of any medical conditions.

What to bring:

Quicksilver departs daily from Marina Mirage Port Douglas at 10am. Quicksilver's luxury air-conditioned coach transfers from Port Douglas, Cairns and Northern Beaches hotels / accommodation are available at an extra charge. Pick-up times will be advised at time of booking. The journey to Port Douglas from Cairns or Northern Beaches is a highlight along is one of Australia's most beautiful scenic coastal drives with a full commentary.

For your experience of a lifetime, Quicksilver's friendly crew will take you to a reef at the very edge of Australia's Continental Shelf, to an underwater world that is a dazzling kaleidoscope of colour and brilliance.

You’ll cruise in air-conditioned comfort aboard a sleek wavepiercing catamaran to a spacious reef activity platform at the renowned Agincourt Reef, a magnificent ribbon reef, where you can experience first hand the magic that is the Great Barrier Reef.

With activities for swimmers and non-swimmers to enjoy, this is the perfect destination to experience this stunning reef world. Discover the reef by snorkelling and diving, or stay dry and explore from of a semi-submarine and underwater observatory. Learn about the wonders of the reef with an informative marine biologist reef presentation and enjoy a sumptuous hot and cold tropical buffet lunch, morning and afternoon teas. Exciting optional activities include introductory and certified scuba diving, guided snorkelling tours, Oceanwalker helmet diving and scenic helicopter tours.

This tour is accredited with Advanced Ecotourism and Climate Action Certification, ensuring our guests can gain an appreciation of this wondrous World Heritage environment.


YOUR QUICKSILVER DAY AT A GLANCE

9.30am: Complimentary morning tea/coffee on boarding. For your safety, hot drinks are not served once the vessel is underway. Passengers are required to be onboard the vessel 15 minutes before departure.

10.00am: Depart Marina Mirage for the Outer Barrier Reef. A Marine Biologist presentation is shown on the vessel monitors 30 minutes after departure. A snorkelling demonstration follows the Marine Biologist presentation.

11.30am : Arrive Outer Barrier Reef - reef activities commence:

- Enjoy swimming and snorkelling from submerged platforms
- Underwater observatory open for coral and fish viewing
- Semi-subs depart every fifteen minutes from the rear of the platform - cruise as often as you like!
- Pre-booked guided snorkelling tours, certified and introductory diving and helicopter scenic flights
- Fish feeding conducted at the snorkelling platform at advertised times.

12 noon: Lunch [included in the fare] is served. Enjoy a hot and cold tropical buffet, containing fresh prawns, pastas, meats, salads and fruit. There are full bar facilities available where you can purchase drinks.

1.30pm: Lunch finishes. Time for more activity or just relax and take in the view!

3.00pm: Depart Agincourt Reef for Port Douglas. Reef video viewing on board.

4.30pm: Arrival at Marina Mirage, Port Douglas.
